April 29 - 12 weeks

Twelve weeks already. A lot of days it still doesn't feel totally real, and I don't know if it will until the baby actually comes... but then I have that reminder that the baby is there in the form of nausea, heartburn, fatigue and/or hunger. We have a doctor's appointment in a few days and are looking forward to (hopefully) getting another glimpse at the baby. From what I understand, he/she is about two inches now and has all of its' body parts- even toenails and eyelids now! That is amazing.

I had a couple of "pregnancy milestones" this week. The first was that I had my first non alcoholic beer. I don't know why but the carbonation just sounded perfect with our fish tacos!

The second was that my pants felt too tight on Friday...so I decided to unbutton them and loop a rubber band through the hole and connect it to the button. Felt so much better! What a bizarre feeling though. I guess I will need to get used to that.

April 21, 2012- 11 weeks

Well I am grateful to be entering the last few weeks of my first trimester. From what I understand, the nausea and the tiredness improves in the second trimester...We'll see. I have been feeling good during the day (if I eat immediately when I wake up) which I am really grateful for. Since I work somewhere where all sorts of foods are being cooked during the day, it would be really hard to make it through my day if I were feeling sick at work! So I am grateful that I really only feel sick around dinner but will still be glad to (hopefully) be done with this phase.

We are doing well and enjoying lots of spring activities... We had a big Good Friday dinner with friends and family...ate lots of good food on Easter...and just recently went away for the weekend with our small group.. Oh and of course we've been watching BASEBALL. Brandon is hoping our child will play baseball but I'm not sure how much more I can watch...

We also got to have Erin and her baby Kaufman over for dinner. Obviously I am good with children because he fell asleep in my arms. Doesn't he look comfortable?

This week the baby is 1.5 inches (the size of a fig, my pregnancy app tells me) and is almost fully formed with even tiny teeth buds developing. Apparently he/she is doing acrobatics already but I won't feel it for a couple months. Pretty unbelievable! We are looking forward to our next appointment in a few weeks and hope to be able to see another glimpse of Baby Cloud!

April 5, 2012 - 9 weeks tomorrow!

Yesterday we
got our first glimpse of Baby Cloud. It is amazing that we can see him/her so early! He/she is only 1.04 cm and we could see a hand move! We heard the heart beating so fast... It is unbelievable. I just have no idea how someone could have a baby and not believe that God exists. How can something so small already have a heartbeat, limbs and even eyelids? It is really incredible.

We were happy to be able to see and hear the baby yesterday as it made everything feel a little more real. So far the only changes for me have been feeling really tired and hungry, so it was fun to be able to see what is going on in there to make me feel that way!

Thank you all for being so excited with us :-)
