Not much has changed at this point... except it's getting more and more difficult to get dressed in the morning because I feel like nothing looks good on me!
Here's a photo of me from yesterday (I feel like it is not very flattering but you can get the idea)....
May 11 - 14 weeks!
We have officially entered the second trimester! That is wild. I think it felt so short because we found out when I was already five weeks, so I really haven't had that full fourteen weeks to adjust... but it still feels like it's flown by.
We went to the midwife last week and got to hear baby cloud's heart beat, and see another glimpse of the little girl or boy! It's incredible how quickly things have progressed with their development - today the baby is 3 1/2 inches and can suck its thumb!
I am definitely starting to feel and look a little more pregnant.... Clothes are feeling tighter and uncomfortable and not very flattering. I'm wearing a lot of dresses these days.
I also received my first mother's day card this week from a co-worker. That was a weird feeling.... But I suppose I am a mom already?

April 29 - 12 weeks
Twelve weeks already. A lot of days it still doesn't feel totally real, and I don't know if it will until the baby actually comes... but then I have that reminder that the baby is there in the form of nausea, heartburn, fatigue and/or hunger. We have a doctor's appointment in a few days and are looking forward to (hopefully) getting another glimpse at the baby. From what I understand, he/she is about two inches now and has all of its' body parts- even toenails and eyelids now! That is amazing.
I had a couple of "pregnancy milestones" this week. The first was that I had my first non alcoholic beer. I don't know why but the carbonation just sounded perfect with our fish tacos!
The second was that my pants felt too tight on Friday...so I decided to unbutton them and loop a rubber band through the hole and connect it to the button. Felt so much better! What a bizarre feeling though. I guess I will need to get used to that.
April 21, 2012- 11 weeks
Well I am grateful to be entering the last few weeks of my first trimester. From what I understand, the nausea and the tiredness improves in the second trimester...We'll see. I have been feeling good during the day (if I eat immediately when I wake up) which I am really grateful for. Since I work somewhere where all sorts of foods are being cooked during the day, it would be really hard to make it through my day if I were feeling sick at work! So I am grateful that I really only feel sick around dinner but will still be glad to (hopefully) be done with this phase.
We are doing well and enjoying lots of spring activities... We had a big Good Friday dinner with friends and family...ate lots of good food on Easter...and just recently went away for the weekend with our small group.. Oh and of course we've been watching BASEBALL. Brandon is hoping our child will play baseball but I'm not sure how much more I can watch...
We also got to have Erin and her baby Kaufman over for dinner. Obviously I am good with children because he fell asleep in my arms. Doesn't he look comfortable?
This week the baby is 1.5 inches (the size of a fig, my pregnancy app tells me) and is almost fully formed with even tiny teeth buds developing. Apparently he/she is doing acrobatics already but I won't feel it for a couple months. Pretty unbelievable! We are looking forward to our next appointment in a few weeks and hope to be able to see another glimpse of Baby Cloud!

April 5, 2012 - 9 weeks tomorrow!
Yesterday we
got our first glimpse of Baby Cloud. It is amazing that we can see him/her so early! He/she is only 1.04 cm and we could see a hand move! We heard the heart beating so fast... It is unbelievable. I just have no idea how someone could have a baby and not believe that God exists. How can something so small already have a heartbeat, limbs and even eyelids? It is really incredible.
We were happy to be able to see and hear the baby yesterday as it made everything feel a little more real. So far the only changes for me have been feeling really tired and hungry, so it was fun to be able to see what is going on in there to make me feel that way!
Thank you all for being so excited with us :-)
March 25, 2012 - 7.5 weeks
Things are starting to feel a little more "real" now. I woke up one morning last week thinking "I almost wish I would get sick so I would feel like I was pregnant"..... and I got sick four times that day. It was miserable. And that started a lot of nausea that I am now experiencing daily. Thankfully I haven't gotten sick again but it is weird that foods that I usually love don't smell appetizing. I didn't even want any coffee last week because it just smelled terrible! And we went out to dinner on Saturday at this place that has delicious spicy chicken... and I had to get plain! So sad. I also have to be very conscious of how often I am eating and feel like I am forcing myself to eat every few hours. So the lack of caffeine, constantly eating, nausea, not wanting to exercise.....all makes me feel even more fatigued than I already am.... From what I have heard from friends, I'll get some energy back in the second trimester, but I am hoping that it happens a little sooner!!
Today we got something fun in the mail....Brandon ordered these little onesies for our future Colorado Rockies fan.....
March 16, 2012 - 6 weeks
I've never done a blog before but I thought this would be a good time to start... We are now six weeks pregnant and I'm sure things will start to feel more real from here on out!
I read a few days ago that the baby is the size of a BB right now, but already starting to develop a face and a spine. Wow! I don't really feel that much different yet except that I feel a little more hungry and tired than I used to. Perhaps that is pyschological but I'm trying to eat well and exercise. Yesterday Brandon and I went for a jog and I felt exhausted and short winded pretty quickly (I'm sure that has nothing to do with not running in a while!)
Anyway, this week has been really fun as we've shared the news with many friends and recover from our weekend with the Cloud family. We were blessed to be able to share our news with both parents at the same time last weekend and enjoyed a wonderful weekend together. I got to take my baby sky diving...the first of what I'm sure will be many adventures together!
It's already been an adventure.
