April 1, 2013- 19 weeks

April already! We have really been enjoying James the past month as he starts to develop more of a personality and discovers more and more every day. A lot has been happening so here's a recap of the past few weeks!

WEEK FOURTEEN

Rode on dad's shoulders for the first time

Starts laughing hysterically when naked!

WEEK FIFTEEN

Met new buddy Eli (seventh newborn he has met in 4 months! He is excited to grow up with so many kids close in age)

Had lunch with Godparents and buddy Lucas Hunolt

Play dates with Ethan Jiang and Grete Iverson

Went to a babysitter's house so mom and dad could go on a date

Begins EXCESSIVE drooling and putting everything in mouth, including mom and dads' fingers!

Mom and dad start reading books before bed time

WEEK SIXTEEN

Lots of play time with Landon and his buddy Edison

Went to a birthday party for Lindsay Aulbach

Hung out with dad and Landon so mom and Aunt Bekah could go to PINK concert!

Sleeps unswaddled for the first time and LOVES it

WEEK SEVENTEEN

Shower for Aunt Kathryn (cousin due around June 16!)

First golf lesson from Poppy

Met new buddy Gracie Wagner (8th newborn buddy!)

Said goodbye to mommy's best friend, Bailey :-(

Celebrated St. Patricks Day and Elsie Gillikins' Birthday

Met Erin and Kaufman Boyd

Flew to Arizona for SPRING TRAINING! (Was great on the plane) -See highlights below

SPRING TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS

Sleeps well on the plane

Plays in pool for the first time (Doesn't really care about it)

Big boy tub!

Lots of baseball games and eating out (Does well overall, Mom learns to redefine "vacation")

Loves spending the weekend with grandpa and grandma cloud

Happy and healthy while everyone else gets sick on trip!

Laughs at himself in the mirror

WEEK EIGHTEEN

A few more days in Arizona

Decides SHRIEKING is amazing

Return home from Arizona

First time in Exersaucer

Mom and dad spend Wednesday and Thursday at work and preparing for Good Friday dinner

February 26, 2013- 14 weeks

James is so much fun these days! He is really settling into a routine - eating and sleeping on a regular schedule and sleeping longer at nights which means we all wake up happy! He is smiling and laughing a lot and can definitely recognize both of us as he greets us with his gummy smiles. He is grasping onto more things and can grab a toy, which he immediately shoves into his mouth. He's loving putting anything into his mouth, especially his fingers. He impresses us with the amount of fingers he can put in his mouth. He also likes to hold onto a blanket which we think is adorable (though I'm sure it's a habit that later I will wish he didn't have). He has become very chatty the past few weeks and seems to always be talking about something! Overall, he is just a happy, easy-going baby.We are really enjoying getting to know him as his personality starts to develop and look forward to watching him grow.

Here's what we have been up to the past few weeks...

WEEK ELEVEN
James loves being with his cousin Landon and wanted to watch "Blues Clues" with him!
Loves looking in the mirror at himself
Had his first froyo date with mom (too bad he can't eat it yet!)

WEEK TWELVE

Sat in the Bumbo for the first time!

Enjoyed playing with Lucas Hunolt

Loves hanging out with dad while mom got a massage and manicure on her birthday!

Sat through a Valentine's Day photo shoot (slightly interrupted by Landon)

WEEK THIRTEEN

Played with Ruby Burleigh

Met Tucker Godfrey (though he sleeps most of the time!)

First Road Trip - Went to Lynchburg to visit Uncle Michael and Aunt Kathryn (With Aunt Bekah, Landon and Aunt Annalise)

First College visit (We're starting him early!) to Longwood University

WEEK FOURTEEN

Went to a baby shower with mom and got to see Ruby and Owen

February 4, 2013- 11 weeks

This past weekend some friends of ours had a baby and we went to visit them at the hospital- they were in the same room that we were with James!! It was a weird feeling to be in that room and just think about how quickly the time has gone by, though sometimes it feels like he has been with us forever! We are loving our time with James as he smiles more and is starting to develop a personality!

WEEK NINE

James has his two month appointment and weighs 12 lbs, 7 oz. He gets some shots and is not happy.

Mom goes back to work... James is with Mimi on Tuesdays and with Aunt Bekah on Wednesdays and Fridays. Landon comes over on Thursdays! It was hard to leave James but he had a good time.

LOTS of smiling

Slept seven-eight hours three nights in a row!

WEEK TEN

James now smiles when I go in to get him after he wakes up

Slept over 9 hours!

Visits new friend, Caitlin Grossman

First snowfall (We saw it start to fall at 5 am...)

January 18, 2013 - 9 weeks tomorrow!

James is two months old! We are all settling into a little bit more of a routine and life is getting easier week by week. I go back to work next week and am feeling a little nervous about the change (and will miss him!) but I'm sure I will enjoy some time away a few hours a day.
